Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate/Junior Engineer to join our road surfacing team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience working on live projects, supported by experienced engineers and project managers. The role will provide exposure to all aspects of road construction, from site preparation and surfacing operations to quality assurance and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist site engineers and supervisors in planning, setting out, and managing road surfacing projects.
* Monitor surfacing operations to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
* Carry out quality control checks on materials, workmanship, and finished surfaces.
* Support the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and site documentation.
* Contribute to accurate record‑keeping, reporting, and project progress tracking.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.
* Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards on all sites.
Requirements
* Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Strong interest in road surfacing, highways, and civil engineering.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Good problem‑solving ability with attention to detail.
* Flexible, proactive, and eager to learn.
* Full driving licence (preferred).
