Job Description
As a skilled mason, you will be responsible for the installation of Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) systems in accordance with architectural and structural specifications. This includes reinforcement integration, structural layout preparation, pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete within ICF assemblies.
You will also read and interpret technical drawings, layout plans, and installation manuals for both ICF and conventional blockwork/masonry systems. Your responsibilities will include constructing walls, partitions, and foundations using various materials such as concrete blocks, clay bricks, and ICF units.
In addition, you will shape, cut, and brace ICF blocks to suit structural and service requirements, including complex junctions and openings for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations. You will apply finishes such as render and waterproofing to both ICF and masonry surfaces as required for building envelope performance.
Ensuring full compliance with Irish building codes, fire safety regulations, thermal insulation requirements, and on-site health and safety practices is crucial for this role.
