Paediatric Spinal Consultant
This role provides a unique opportunity to specialise in the management of complex spinal conditions affecting children.
* Expert surgical and clinical care will be provided for children with congenital, idiopathic, and neuromuscular spinal deformities.
* The successful candidate will lead preoperative assessment, operative planning, and postoperative management.
* Collaboration is essential with a multi-disciplinary team including orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, and anaesthetists.
* Participation in an on-call rota for spinal emergencies is required.
* A key aspect of this role is contributing to service development, audit, teaching, and clinical research initiatives.
* Critical support will be provided to national and regional referral networks for paediatric spinal care.
Requirements:
* Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Council of Ireland is mandatory.
* Subspecialist training and experience in paediatric spinal surgery is essential.
* A fellowship in paediatric spinal surgery is also required.
