Full job descriptionJob SummaryThe primary responsibility will be the day-to-day activities of the engineering/maintenance teams. Interaction between engineering and production on all issues related to production line maintenance and mechanical downtime.Hours: 4-Cycle shift PatternRoleEnsure the efficient running of the production line, follow up on mechanical issues, and comment on production issues.Work in partnership with the production team to achieve operational targets.Closely monitor the production line and machine performance.Take a proactive role online as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs.Attend Engineering team briefings.Maintain PM records and ensure all PMs are up to date.Receive detailed handover on the floor from the previous shift.Fill in maintenance handover sheets after engineering work online.Walk the line thoroughly, talk to Cell Leaders/Production Operators regarding issues/resolutions on the line.Ensure traceability of all Engineering spares.Ensure issues are fully closed out.Use permit to work rules where required.Participate in engineering/projects improvements and process improvements.Maintain good housekeeping in both production area and engineering workshop.Participate and comply with safety & hygiene audits.Work under own initiative.Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering manager.ResponsibilitiesProcess work orders: outstanding jobs, work completed per week, and new work orders.Conduct downtime analysis: identify top 10 issues in the plant, focusing on frequency and major stops, and display downtime by area.Manage the PM schedule: weekly, monthly, and quarterly in conjunction with the production manager. Communicate plans weekly and during weekends. Ensure PMs are completed versus planned, and key CMs are completed.Be the key contact for engineering support daily; awareness of issues and performance is critical.Champion health and safety, providing expertise and input.Provide key input into plant forums: daily reviews at 10:00, weekly work order review with production manager, and weekly downtime review with the Engineering manager.Attend shift handovers with production supervisors at the start of each shift.Special SkillsRepair of industrial production equipment such as high-speed machines, conveyors, packaging machines, gearboxes, bearings, and hydraulics.Proficiency in TIG Welding and Stainless-steel Fabrication.Knowledge of Bakery, Process, or Packaging machinery.Experience with Pemac or similar CMMS Systems.Good knowledge of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Welding, Fabricating, and Machining.PLC Experience (Siemens S7) is an advantage.Proven knowledge of Computerized Engineering systems.Understanding of Bakery and Packaging machinery.Good people and communication skills.Experience and involvement in Engineering-related Projects.Key Performance IndicatorsPMs completed versus planned at 95%CM backlog of 50 jobsMechanical efficiency of 96%Plant efficiency of 91%OEE of 84%100% availability of critical spare parts and beltsProvision of engineering cover at 100%100% engineering representation at daily and weekly plant forumsZero accidents within the engineering teamConformance to engineering budget
