Procurement Inventory Manager - Meath/Cavan We are seeking a Procurement Inventory Manager to take ownership of purchasing and stock control, reduce waste, optimise inventory levels, improve stock availability, and protect margins.
You will manage a Purchasing Administrator and collaborate closely with the Head of Operations and Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient, accurate, and streamlined inventory management.
The ideal candidate is meticulous, experienced in multiple ERP systems, and has a proven track record of implementing new systems and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities Oversee booking in of stock, PO processing, and supplier onboarding.
Maintain ordering logic and inventory systems to ensure stock accuracy and liquidate slow-moving items appropriately.
Proactively monitor and manage out-of-stock (OOS), stock-to-push (STP) inefficiencies, and wastage.
Actively manage landed costs to protect product margins.
Examine and optimise carriage-in processes, ensuring transport costs are effectively managed.
Conduct weekly and monthly SKU checks, stock takes, and reviews of inventory data.
Lead initiatives to implement new ERP or stock management systems where required.
Drive continuous improvements in procurement and inventory processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with warehouse, operations, and finance teams to ensure cross-departmental alignment.
Achieve departments KPIs and use data to drive performance improvements Full ownership of the traffic log, coordinating inbound deliveries and transport company communications.
Experience qualifications: Highly meticulous, innovative, and proactive.
Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management, ideally in distribution or wholesale.
Experienced with multiple ERP systems and implementing new stock management systems.
Strong analytical skills for cost control, margin protection, and reporting.
Skilled in process improvement and driving operational efficiency.
Excellent communication and collaboration across multiple departments.
Familiarity with transport coordination, inbound logistics, and delivery tracking.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or Procurement preferred.
Professional qualifications such as MCIPS or equivalent preferred.
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
