About The Job
The Material Planner will be responsible for the order placement of material and/or packaging to meet production requirements and stock replenishment plans.
Working as part of a team and alongside the Inbound Material Manager, Production Planner & Inbound Warehouse team, the Material Planner will help set-up and maintain the SAP MRP system, in order to schedule deliveries and supply of materials in an efficient and cost‑effective way, respecting healthy safety stock levels in the factory.
Danone Infant Nutrition Macroom is a division of the Danone Group and the Macroom Supply Point is a strategic spray drying factory within the division as it is a major supplier of infant formula to other plants within the network.
About You
Main Responsibilities & KPI's
Raw Material Stock Management
Creating and maintaining purchase orders to meet production needs
Maintain stock levels in line with targets and other parameters such as MOQs/EOQs
Routinely review demand versus supply identifying and communicating supply risks
Follow assigned contracted volumes to maintain allocations by supplier
Provide forecasts to suppliers as appropriate
Systems, MRP & KPIs
Establish & maintain planning parameters in the SAP MRP system
Support Inbound Material Manager and MRP Planner on preparation of Monthly MRP submission
Contribute to the development of short, medium and long‑term business plans and contingencies
Manage relations with suppliers and maintain KPIs
Maintain supplier contact information
Invoice query resolution
Projects
Provide input to sourcing projects as required
Support new supplier or material introductions
Internal Controls
Responsible for Danone Internal Controls as assigned to you by the Internal Controller

Professional Experience & Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment, ideally in the food industry
Material or Production Planning experience is mandatory
MRP understanding and working knowledge of one or more integrated ERP systems
SAP experience advantageous but not essential
Numerical ability, able to analyse and interpret key process data and forecast requirements
Proficient in the use of MS Office tools, particularly Excel, minimum intermediate level is required
Relevant Third Level qualification
Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
