We are currently recruiting for an EHS Advisor to join our team. This full-time permanent role would be ideally suited to an individual with a construction or trade background, as it involves both site visits and office-based duties. The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing health and safety compliance across the business and improving the EHS culture.
This role is based on site in Denmark with rotation back to your home country in Europe.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Develop guidelines, processes, and documentation to support the company in addressing and enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards.
2. Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure they meet high standards.
3. Serve as a competent PSDP and/or PSCS, including preparing/reviewing Preliminary Design and Construction Safety Plans.
4. Conduct administrative and site audits to ensure contractual obligations and EHS compliance are met.
5. Monitor personnel on-site, including subcontractors, agency, and direct employees, for EHS compliance.
6. Lead incident investigations, utilizing root cause analysis to determine true causes and corrective actions.
7. Maintain continued compliance with all regulatory and legislative standards.
8. Ensure compliance with Environmental & Safety management systems ISO14001 & ISO45001.
9. Identify positive and negative behaviors proactively and implement corrective measures for non-conformances.
10. Manage and maintain employee training records in collaboration with the Training Department.
11. Create and develop content for the QEHS intranet, including best practice policies and procedures.
12. Perform other duties as necessary for business efficiency.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
1. Degree in an EHS discipline.
2. 3-5 years' experience in a fast-paced pharmaceutical or construction environment.
3. In-depth knowledge of Irish environmental health & safety compliance obligations.
4. Preferred qualifications include Training Evaluation & Delivery, First Aid Responder, Manual Handling Instructor, Working at Height Instructor, and DSE Assessor.
5. Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
6. Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and construction work.
7. Proficiency in MS Office, capable of generating detailed reports.
8. High attention to detail, conscientiousness, and ability to multitask.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
