The Conference & Events Sales Manager will lead the proactive and reactive sales efforts for Trim Castle Hotel's Meetings, Conferences, Weddings and Events business. This role will focus on developing Trim's conference and corporate events portfolio, maximising sales and conversion, and ensuring seamless delivery through effective handover to operations.

Managing a team of three Event Sales Executives, the role provides leadership, mentorship, and performance management, while working closely with the Cluster BDMs and the Revenue team to shape product, pricing, and sales strategy.


Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Team Management


o Lead, mentor, and develop the team of three Event Sales Executives, ensuring high performance and professional growth across weddings, conferences and events

o Foster a collaborative, salesdriven culture that delivers results and exceptional client service.


Sales & Business Development


o Drive conference and corporate event sales at Trim Castle Hotel, developing this segment in partnership with Cluster BDMs

o Proactively manage relationships with local corporate clients, event planners, and key stakeholders

o Ensure reciprocal crossselling opportunities between Trim Castle Hotel and The Johnstown Estate are maximised

o Respond to all event, wedding and conference enquiries within an 8hour SLA, optimising conversion and yield

o Attend and/or arrange staffing for trade shows, conferences, showcases and networking events to build relationships, generate leads, and promote the hotel's event offerings, ensuring a positive brand presence and staying current with industry trends


Commercial Strategy


o Contribute to product development and pricing strategies for meetings and events (F&B, room hire, packages)

o Collaborate with the Revenue Manager to agree annual pricing strategies for rooms in the events segment and handle adhoc negotiations for large enquiries

o Work with the Cluster DOSM to review pipeline, identify gaps, and implement proactive strategies to achieve targets


Client & Event Lifecycle Management


o Ensure accurate event detailing in Opera and timely production of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)

o Maintain clear communication with operations, ensuring seamless handover from sales to delivery

o Attend preconference meetings and greet key conference clients onsite to build relationships and ensure satisfaction

o Follow up post event to measure satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business


Reporting & Administration


o Track, analyse, and report on sales activity, conversion, and pipeline performance.

o Provide regular updates to the Cluster DOSM and GM on sales progress and targets

o Conduct market research to identify local trends and competitor activity, adjusting strategies accordingly


Requirements for the role:


Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a senior hospitality event management or sales role, ideally in a 4* or 5* property with significant conference facilities

Proven track record of leading a team in a high volume, service driven environment

Proficient in Opera Sales & Catering, with strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) skills

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence pricing and strategy

Exceptional customer service focus, with ability to manage and grow long term client relationships

Achievement of revenue and conversion targets across conferences and events

Growth of the corporate conference segment at Trim Castle Hotel

Effective mentoring and development of Event Sales Executives.

Strong collaboration with cluster BDMs and Revenue Manager on pricing and pipeline
