The Site Agent/Senior Engineer will be responsible for the management of the construction site to achieve project delivery, whilst maintaining highest standards of health and safety, quality, environmental, and commercial performance. They will work closely with Key Clients, Stakeholders, Engineers, H&S, Environmental, Quality, Commercial teams to ensure that projects meets or exceeds expectations. They will actively participate and build site teams that foster trust, value constructive feedback and dialogue that helps advance our collective engineering knowledge & experience. Their daily decisions and actions will be guided by Safety, Engineering Excellence, Respect & Collaboration— Our Foundation.
Site Management
* Deliver the work safely and to the contract programme
* Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is achieved
* Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects
* Deliver the work to the specified quality without defects
* Ensure production and implementation of Project QEHS Plans, RAMS, inspections, and waste management plans, in line with Company procedures
* Produce and manage the project programme and produce weekly look ahead with site team
* Chair weekly site progress meetings with the site team focusing on progress and planning.
* Manage site Procurement material schedules with Head office.
Client interface
* Take a leadership role representing the business to clients, public and stakeholder bodies
* Maintain strong relationships based on mutual respect and collaboration.
Cost control
* Populate and manage the cost plan for the project
* Maximise project value
* Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed
* Maintain commercial tension and identify and highlight value engineering opportunities
Managing resources
* Lead the site team by example, instilling company culture and values
* Address issues with resources promptly, with foresight of potential issues
* Ensure sufficient plant and labour is available to complete all tasks to programme.
* Ensure that records of resources are compiled by site team in liaison with Quantity Surveyor & Commercial Team
* Organise and conduct toolbox talks and issue specific method statements in line with organisational and legal requirements
Reporting
* Produce accurate monthly reports
* Chair meetings in line with Company procedures
Key relationships:
Develop and maintain positive working relationships between operatives and staff; client and contractor; suppliers and contractors; public and contractors; and sub-contractors and contractors.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
5+ years’ experience in an engineering role.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative project team.
