Job title: Community PharmacistLocation: Beaumont D9 — full-time. Start date 3rd November 2025.Reporting to: OwnerRole summaryWe are seeking a professional, patient-focused Community Pharmacist to join our Dublin pharmacy team. You will provide safe, effective dispensing and clinical services, deliver high-quality patient counselling, support medicines management, and ensure full compliance with Irish pharmacy law and professional standards. This role suits a pharmacist who is confident working independently, supportive of a multidisciplinary team, and committed to excellent customer care.Key responsibilities- Dispense prescriptions accurately and safely; check prescriptions for appropriateness and legality- Provide patient counselling on prescribed medicines, OTC products, and self-care- Deliver and document clinical services (e.g., flu and covid19 vaccinations, medication reviews/MURs, blood pressure checks)- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and other staff; maintain pharmacist staffing rotas as required- Maintain full compliance with the Pharmacy Act, PSI standards, HPRA reporting requirements and Misuse of Drugs legislation- Manage stock, ordering and inventory control; ensure cold chain integrity for temperature-sensitive medications- Handle controlled drugs safely and maintain accurate records- Support pharmacy business operations: POS, payment reconciliations, and customer service- Participate in audits, quality improvement, and CPD activities- Liaise with prescribers, clinics and care teams to resolve medication queries and support continuity of care- Maintain accurate patient records and privacy and confidentiality in line with GDPREssential qualifications and requirements- Qualified pharmacist registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) and eligible to practise in Ireland- Current professional indemnity cover (or employed arrangement where employer provides)- A minimum of 1–2 years' community pharmacy experience (recent experience in a community setting preferred). Would be ideal for a newly qualified pharmacist to gain invaluable experience in a family owned independent pharmacy .- Strong knowledge of Irish medicines legislation, dispensing procedures and controlled drugs regulations- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English- Good IT skills; experience with pharmacy management systems and electronic prescription processes- Right to work in Ireland; Garda vetting if required by employerDesirable- Postgraduate qualifications or additional training (e.g., clinical pharmacy, vaccinations)- Experience delivering enhanced pharmacy services.- Management or supervising experienceSkills and attributes- Strong attention to detail and high standards of accuracy- Patient-centred and empathetic approach- Ability to prioritise in a busy environment and manage time effectively- Team player with leadership capability- Problem-solving mindset and commitment to continuous professional developmentWorking conditions and hours- Full-time (40 hours/week) ; weekend and evening rota requiredSalary and benefits- Competitive salary reflecting Dublin market and experience (indicative range: €65,000–€85,000 per annum; final offer dependent on experience and qualifications)- Benefits may include pension contribution, paid annual leave, sick pay, employee discount, professional registration fees- Support for additional training and career progression where appropriateHow to applyPlease submit a CV and cover letter outlining your relevant experience and registration details.
