We consistently strive to be a progressive, open employer focusing on development and growth.The RoleReporting to the Project manager, the candidate will assist in ensuring the accuracy of structures in accordance with design drawings and specifications is achieved at every level during the build process on site. The ideal candidate should be confident in setting out independently and have a strong understanding of measurement and detail.This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career within the construction industry in an exciting, growing firm.ResponsibilitiesThese include but are not limited to:Health and Safety ensuring all of the requirements are adhered to and that safety protocols on site are of the highest possible standardSetting out, levelling and surveying the site, ensuring accuracy in measurement and detailingWork with total stations and other surveying equipmentCollaborate with the site team to ensure smooth project executionSurvey data managementCheck plans and drawings to ensure all calculations are accurateProviding progress reports for the site management team & clientsRegular use of AutoCAD to check on site dimensionsTaking levels for the construction of various structures – structural steel frame, finishing concrete, drainage services and roadways etcLiaising with subcontractors & site managersKey Skills & ExperienceA successful candidate will demonstrate the following:Degree/Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering/Construction Management or similarValid Safe Pass2 years’ experience in a similar role is desirableStrong setting out experienceExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in all workStrong understanding the key elements of engineering work; site-setting out, day-to-day surveys, as-built drawings etc.Proficient in the use of Topcon and Auto-cadGood knowledge of latest building regulation and certification standardsExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, OutlookStrong communication skills (both written and oral)Ability to work under pressure, prioritising and managing multiple tasks simultaneously, managing time effectively to meet challenging work goalsAbility to take initiative and work both individually and as a strong team playerCompany BenefitsFull time/permanent employmentCompany pensionEmployee Assistance ProgrammeProfessional development & training opportunitiesGreat working conditions with a progressive companyThis job description is intended to cover the minimum duties and responsibilities required for this role.
