Job Description

We are looking for a Lead 2D Designer to join our team here at our Dublin studio. The successful candidate will create artwork that communicates the creative vision of the designated show's director and art director, in line with the workflow and pipeline needs, and to a consistent style and to the quality level required. They will also coach and develop the work of other 2D Designers in the team, problem solving as appropriate.
This is a Fixed-Term, 8-Month contract based in Dublin and will commence January 2026.
Please note that our studio operates on a hybrid model, with two days per week required in the studio.
The successful candidate must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Creating 2D designs for different types of assets (characters, props, sets, FX) depending on skill set.
* Creating texture and colour callouts for different types of assets (characters, props, sets, FX) depending on skill set.
* Collaborating with the production and CG teams in order to meet demands of the pipeline.
* Proactively problem solving; creating the IT and pipeline tickets to address any technical problems for the department.
* Logging time into time logging software daily.
* Contributing to the development of tools and workflows.
* Coaching and training of other team members.
* Advising in casting of resources.
Key Requirements
Knowledge:
* Thorough understanding of the requirements from artwork for animation.
* Proactive in improving current practice.
Experience:
* Significant experience working as a 2D Designer (or similar position) in either broadcast or feature film work with asset tracking systems (desirable).
* Coaching & mentoring of others.
Technical Skills:
* Expert level in Adobe Photoshop.
* Able to advise, improve on and troubleshoot on current tools and animation issues.
