Social Care Leader
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team delivering trauma-informed care for young people aged 13-17 years. The team will foster positive attachments through relationship building, aiming to provide a therapeutic environment.
You will work with a team of Social Care professionals to deliver holistic, trauma-informed care. Your responsibilities include working with children, household management, administration, health and safety, and professional development.
Job Overview:
* Participate in the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans, ensuring accurate recording.
* Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person.
* Promote the physical, emotional, social, and religious welfare of each young person.
* Encourage attendance at school, training centers, medical and clinical appointments.
* Manage personal documents, arrangements, information, and finances on behalf of the young person.
* Liaise with parents, families, general services, and other agencies on behalf of the young person.
* Attend meetings related to care and developments.
* Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with children/young people.
* Apply local policies and procedures for physical intervention and restraint.
* Prepare and provide meals with the young people.
* Undertake household budgeting, upkeep, and cleaning.
* Attend team meetings and report to the Social Care Manager on service delivery matters.
* Be accountable for expenditures.
* Submit regular written and verbal reports on the young person's progress.
* Participate in ongoing professional training and development.
* Make decisions when on shift and in the absence of the Deputy Social Care Manager or Social Care Manager as appropriate.
* Be part of the on-call team.
Requirements:
* A minimum of three years' experience in Children & Families Services or a similar environment.
* Registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU or equivalent qualification with application for registration.
