The Role
We are seeking a proactive
Building Maintenance Operative
to join our Rathcoole team. In this role, you will carry out general building maintenance and basic repairs to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The position also involves supporting pest control tasks such as monitoring, identifying issues, carrying out treatments, and implementing proofing measures to maintain a pest-free environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out general repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
* Inspect and maintain equipment, fixtures, doors, and windows.
* Assist with pest-control activities, including monitoring, treatment, and proofing work.
* Provide clear advice on preventing pest issues.
* Complete routine preventive maintenance and report major repair needs.
* Follow all safety and compliance standards.
* Maintain accurate records and service reports.
* Communicate clearly and professionally with clients about work carried out and recommendations.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* Experience with general building maintenance or similar practical work.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Strong attention to detail when completing reports and assessments.
* Ability to assess sites and support pest-management solutions.
* Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.
* Full clean driver's licence.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Desirable:
* Pest control training, qualification, or relevant experience.
* Experience in a client-facing role within maintenance, facilities, or service industries.
