Developing and leading API processes from discovery to commercialization requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and collaboration. As a Principal Scientist, you will lead the development of end-to-end API processes, from route scouting through scale-up and GMP manufacturing for client programs across clinical and commercial phases.
You will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to define development strategies, technology selection, timelines, and deliverables that meet their needs. This involves evaluating and implementing innovative process technologies to improve yield, robustness, scalability, sustainability, or cost-efficiency, including continuous flow chemistry, crystallisation development, advanced automation, and real-time data analytics.
To ensure successful technology transfer into our site, you will contribute to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies and processes, collaborating with clients, partners, and internal teams to drive innovation and efficiency.
Your role also includes performing risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential scale-up or safety issues, and developing and implementing Design of Experiments (DoE) to optimize critical process parameters.
In addition, you will mentor and develop scientists within PR&D, contributing to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by sharing your knowledge, expertise, and experience with colleagues.
