Senior Identity & Access Management (IAM) Contractor
Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Senior Identity & Access Management (IAM) Contractor to lead and mature a Zero Trust-based IAM governance framework. This role requires deep expertise across human and non‑human identity, governance best practice, and modern enterprise identity platforms.
The successful contractor will work hands‑on with cross‑functional teams, security leadership, and platform owners to enhance verification capabilities, deploy MFA, strengthen privileged access controls, and drive compliance with NIST 2 and sector‑specific regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, maintain, and mature an enterprise-wide IAM governance program aligned to Zero Trust principles.
• Oversee management of human and non-human identities across hybrid cloud environments.
• Deploy and optimise MFA across the organisation.
• Enhance and enforce privileged password policies and shared account controls.
• Work closely with engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to ensure best‑practice IAM implementation.
• Provide subject matter expertise across PKI, cryptography, identity lifecycle, and policy frameworks.
• Support governance reporting, auditing, and compliance alignment with NIST 2.
Required Skills & Experience
• Deep experience developing or leading IAM Governance frameworks.
• Expertise with Okta, SailPoint, Azure Entra ID, OCI, and enterprise identity systems.
• Advanced knowledge of PKI, cryptography, certificate-based identity, and secure key management.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL, Oracle, and identity data querying.
• Familiarity with Power Platform, automation, and DevSecOps integration.
• Strong understanding of NIST 2 and Zero Trust principles.
Location & Engagement Details
• Hybrid working: 2 days onsite per week.
• Office locations: Cork or Dublin.
• Contract: Senior-level daily-rate contractor (budget cycle refresh in March).
• Environment: Enterprise public sector organisation.
