About the Project

We are currently seeking a skilled Water Infrastructure Specialist to join our team responsible for managing and maintaining the site's critical utilities infrastructure, with a particular focus on wastewater treatment and environmental compliance.
The role will involve heavy focus on the wastewater and effluent treatment plant, while also supporting broader utilities functions such as steam, compressed air, water, and refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater and effluent treatment systems in line with environmental standards.
2. Carry out routine inspections, sampling, and testing (e.g., pH, flow rates, chemical dosing).
3. Diagnose and resolve issues with treatment equipment including pumps, filters, valves, and sensors.
4. Collaborate with environmental teams to ensure performance meets sustainability and regulatory goals.
5. Maintain detailed operational records and incident reports.
6. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce resource use.

General Utilities Operations:
1. Support the maintenance and operation of site utilities such as steam, water, compressed air, and refrigeration.
2. Perform preventative maintenance tasks and support commissioning/start-up of equipment.
3. Monitor alarms and respond to system faults in a timely manner to ensure continuous operation.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
1. Adhere strictly to site health and safety protocols while working on utilities systems.
2. Ensure all work complies with relevant environmental legislation and internal policies.
3. Take part in safety audits and risk assessments; contribute to corrective actions and continuous improvements.

Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration:
1. Work closely with the Utilities Manager and engineering teams to drive performance and reliability improvements.
2. Share technical expertise across cross-functional teams including production and maintenance.
3. Keep up to date with evolving utilities technologies and best practices in wastewater management.

Qualifications & Experience:
1. Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
2. Previous experience in utilities operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
3. Strong hands-on experience with wastewater and effluent treatment systems (chemical dosing, filtration, biological processes).
4. Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and process equipment.
5. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards applicable to utilities operations.

1. Experience within food, beverage, or brewing industries.
2. Familiarity with SCADA or automated utilities control systems.
