Our client is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join their team. What you'll do:
As a Trainee Accountant, your responsibilities will include managing financial transactions, preparing journal entries, maintaining the fixed asset register, and assisting with external audits. Strong organisational skills will help you meet deadlines, and good interpersonal skills will facilitate team communication. This role offers growth and development opportunities within the finance sector.
* Manage and post monthly VDP payments made on the office bank account.
* Reconcile and post credit card transactions.
* Prepare and post journal entries in Sage 50, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Record Capital Expenditure and maintain the fixed asset register.
* Assist with annual external audits.
* Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager as needed.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate will have experience in finance or bookkeeping roles, proficiency in Sage 50 or similar software, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, analytical abilities, attention to detail, and organisational skills are essential.
* Accounting Technician or part-qualified in an internationally recognised Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance or bookkeeping roles.
* Strong knowledge and experience using Sage 50 or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
