Project Civil/Structural Design Lead Water & Wastewater Exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Civil/Structural Design Lead is required to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy working on major water and wastewater infrastructure programmes across Ireland. Youll play a key role in the Design & Build team, leading the civil/structural design for a variety of projects - including pumping stations, treatment works, pipelines and network improvements - delivered for national utilities and contracting partners through several existing frameworks. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal technical leadership role within a growing team. Youll be responsible for delivering detailed design packages, coordinating across multiple disciplines, and contributing to high-profile infrastructure projects that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and deliver tangible community benefits. Sample Projects: Wastewater treatment works upgrades & network resilience programmes Trunk mains, rising mains & water supply reinforcement schemes Urban drainage, stormwater management & nature-based solutions DesignBuild collaborations for water & wastewater infrastructure Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed civil and structural design solutions for a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Scope and coordinate all necessary surveys: planning & ecology inputs, topographical, geotechnical and road condition surveys. Undertake site visits to assess project scope and inform design development. Lead coordination with MEICA designers and manage inputs from planning and ecology teams. Liaise with clients, in-house teams, other offices and external consultants. Participate in constructability reviews and support delivery teams through the design process. Produce design reports, specifications, programmes and associated documentation Attend design team and client meetings, representing the civil/structural discipline. Requirements: Level 8 Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Working towards Chartership with a recognised engineering institution. Strong working knowledge of water and wastewater assets, standards and specifications. Demonstrated ability to deliver design work to deadlines, both independently and within a team. Excellent drafting, written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, collaborative approach.
