Read on for more details about this particular role.Responsibilities50%1.Production and process supportHow is it accomplished/Key Performance Indicators?Recommend and assist our engineers with manufacturing process design changes to increase efficiency throughout our facility.Assist our engineers with new product development and/or design concern resolution through verification of proposed design changesAssist in sustaining engineering tasks for existing production lines.Collect production dataWork with Operations and Engineering to resolve concerns with product function or designPrepare and maintain equipment, tooling, and materials to ensure smooth production operations when and as required by the Engineering teams30%2.Documentation data and system maintenanceHow is it accomplished/Key Performance Indicators?Create and maintain Work Instructions, SOPs, SAP routings, and BOMs under managerial guidance.Verify production data against ERP/MES for accuracy and integrity; report discrepancies to EngineerSupport audits, validations, and process checks by ensuring accurate documentation.Provide feedback on improvements to process documentation and standard work.Conduct time studies to analyze and improve work methods and process efficiency, as needed10%3.Continuous Improvement and IndustrializationHow is it accomplished/Key Performance Indicators?Participate in Continuous Improvement activities such as 5 Why, Kaizen, and layout optimization projects.Support development of Poke Yoke, error-proofing, or engineering solutions.Provide input to line layout design, ergonomic improvements, and process enhancements.Review errors and rework to determine root cause and recommended corrective actions10%4.Safety and Training SupportHow is it accomplished/Key Performance Indicators?Participate in investigations of process deviations or non-conforming products and assist in corrective actions.Conduct training of operators and line leaders on new or updated processes, SOPs, and Work Instructions as and when neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, promoting operational excellence and adherence to EHS standards.QualificationsStrong problem-solving mindset with understanding of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement.Knowledge of manufacturing technologies, including machines and process equipment.Cross-functional collaboration and effective communication skills, with the ability to lead change.Strong project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities.Continuous learning orientation and adaptability in a dynamic manufacturing environment.Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in assembly, machining, or process operations.Understanding of process documentation (work instructions, SOPs, routings, BOMs).Capable of supporting line setup, troubleshooting, and production improvement activities.Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence attitudes and behavioursAbility to manage workload and support multiple project simultaneouslyDemonstrated customer centric focusFamiliarity with automation and roboticsUnderstanding of process documentation (work instructions, SOPs, routings, BOMs).Capable of supporting line setup, troubleshooting, and production improvement activitiesFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, 5 Why, Poke Yoke, Kaizen, etc.).Experience supporting Continuous Improvement (CI) or problem-solving activities (DMAIC, FPY improvementExperience with 3D Printing / Printed Circuit BoardsMSA is committed to the principles of equal employment opportunity and to providing a workplace that is free from unlawful discrimination.
