About the Job
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the production
schedule to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and balanced capacity across operations. This role coordinates closely with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality teams to align material availability, labour resources, and manufacturing priorities with customer demand.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
Production Planning & Scheduling
• Develop, manage, and update the master production schedule (MPS) based on demand
forecasts, sales orders, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
• Convert forecasted and actual customer demand into efficient, achievable production plans.
• Perform capacity planning and identify resource constraints; propose solutions such as
overtime, outsourcing, or schedule adjustments.
• Analyze and adjust schedules to accommodate engineering changes, rush orders, or
unexpected delays.
Coordination & Communication
• Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Quality and Procurement teams to ensure raw
materials, components, and labour are available to support the schedule.
• Communicate schedule changes and priorities to cross-functional teams in a timely manner.
• Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings to align operational and quality teams on
schedule updates and performance.
Monitoring & Optimization
• Track performance against schedule, including on-time delivery (OTD), schedule adherence,
and production throughput.
• Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies.
• Evaluate historical data and trends to improve forecasting accuracy and scheduling strategies.
• Maintain system data integrity within ERP/MRP systems.
Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare and present production schedule metrics and capacity analyses to leadership.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency, reduce
lead times, and improve resource utilization.
• Process expenses, invoices, and financial documentation.
• Support personal tasks and responsibilities where required, ensuring seamless integration
between professional and personal commitments.
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management with at least 5 years of experience in production
scheduling, planning, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment, ideally within in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
You have the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. You have excellent self-awareness, enjoy collaborating with others and you are an effective communicator (both verbal and written).
