Senior Electrical Design Engineer MEP

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy delivering complex building services projects across Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging developments within both existing and new buildings, contributing to high-quality and efficient electrical design solutions.
Key Projects
You will have the opportunity to work on projects such as:
Electrical system upgrades within large operational buildings to improve performance, resilience, and energy efficiency.
Electrical services design for technically complex environments requiring high levels of reliability and compliance.
Refurbishment and redevelopment of occupied buildings where careful coordination and phased delivery are essential.
Projects incorporating modern energy-efficient electrical infrastructure and smart building technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the electrical design of MEP systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarms, and data/communications infrastructure.
Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and technical reports in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, and mechanical engineers.
Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and quality checks to ensure compliance, safety, and performance.
Support the delivery of projects from concept through to construction and commissioning.
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and graduate team members.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
5+ years’ experience in electrical design within a building services consultancy environment.
Strong understanding of electrical design standards, building regulations, and industry best practice.
Experience working on complex building refurbishment or upgrade projects is desirable.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar design software.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within programme timelines.
Competitive salary up to €70,000 depending on experience.
