As part of our continuing and ongoing expansion in Ireland, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented, experienced Property Claims Handler to join our team based at our Cork Office.
Reporting to the Head of Property, you will be responsible for handling a portfolio of commercial property desktop claims from investigation to settlement, ensuring company standards are met in relation to all technical and operational policies and procedures, including data protection and information security.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Investigating, negotiating, determining the outcome, and agreeing on settlement of claims in a professional manner by completing desktop investigations, possibly including the use of our remote video survey app.
2. Assisting and liaising with policyholders, their representatives, insurers, and brokers to achieve a professional and timely conclusion of claims.
3. Completing desktop investigations and damage surveys for claims.
4. Producing reports in compliance with professional standards and internal guidelines within agreed timescales.
5. Actively contributing to McLarens’ business development programme.
6. Ensuring time reporting and billing are compliant with internal standards, processing, and systems.
7. Undertaking projects and other ad hoc activities as required, including participation in marketing activities occasionally.
8. Inspecting, reporting upon, processing, and progressing claims of small and medium value promptly, with a customer-focused approach, in accordance with existing client and internal SLAs. Your experience should demonstrate strengths and capabilities in these areas.
Knowledge and Experience
Successful candidates will have gained significant experience in the Property claims sector or related professions, demonstrating a focus on quality, communication, and organisational skills in a customer-focused environment. They will have proven capabilities in negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving, and reporting. The ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally is essential.
Candidates must hold CIP at a minimum or be working towards professional qualifications, preferably CILA, ACII, or MDI. They will also need to successfully complete all related Fitness and Probity and CPD requirements.
