This role focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in adult inpatients.
A key aspect of this position is conducting detailed assessments for patients experiencing communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing difficulties.
The responsibilities of this job include managing a caseload that includes elderly patients and those with neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury, or progressive neurological disease.
* Deliver evidence-based dysphagia interventions, adhering to best practice standards.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) comprising medical, nursing, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
* Possess a recognized qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
* Hold CORU registration or be eligible for it.
* Have a dysphagia qualification and experience working in an acute care setting.
