Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Project / Senior Engineer (mechanical/chemical/process or similar suitable experience), to work on projects in our gas and utilities sectors, including supporting RPS’s delivery on GNI Framework projects. This includes a wide variety of design projects in the gas transmission and distribution areas. RPS is also active in the renewable energy sector – our current project portfolio includes industrial projects, wind energy projects, solar, electricity distribution projects, Carbon Capture & Storage, and a hydrogen feasibility study.
Our team is active in the UK gas sector within the innovation space and has worked on projects including biomass, waste to energy, and district heating.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the gas, oil, or similar process industries and will become a senior member of our Gas & Utilities team. Experience in Ireland’s gas and/or energy industry is an advantage but not essential. The role involves taking a lead design role and assisting in ongoing training.

About The Role:
You will support the delivery of various gas/energy projects and provide clients with professional, proactive, and efficient service. Responsibilities include:
* Directing Engineers and Technicians in producing design reports and construction packs
* Contributing to gas energy projects at all levels, including:
* Surveys of existing gas infrastructure
* liaising with third parties
* Developing enduring design solutions per standards and client needs
* Assessing design hazards per Health & Safety Regulations
* Producing/reviewing calculations, drawings, estimates
* Providing technical advice to clients
* Exploring innovation and sustainability opportunities
* Reporting progress
* Client liaison, including presenting design reports
* Supporting development of team competencies
About You:
* 3–10 years of post-graduate experience in energy or gas sectors
* Experience in designing energy/utilities infrastructure, especially gas infrastructure in Ireland or elsewhere is an advantage
* Experience with ATEX Regulations and design (IGEM/SR/25 experience is an advantage)
* Hold a clean driving license
Qualifications:
* Level 8 Engineering degree
* Chartered Engineer status or equivalent (seeking to achieve if not yet obtained)
