We are currently seeking an experienced
Design Manager
to join Dublin-based projects, ensuring seamless design coordination and delivery across all project phases.
Role Overview
The Design Manager will be responsible for managing all design and technical aspects of the project, coordinating architectural and engineering information, monitoring technical submittals, and ensuring effective communication between the site team, consultants, and subcontractors.
This role requires a strong understanding of design processes, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design Coordination & Management
Manage the setting out of the project in conjunction with the site team, focusing on coordination of architectural and engineering information.
Coordinate utilities and services between mechanical/electrical engineers and utility providers.
Prepare and maintain the schedule of information requirements and ensure timely submission to the architect/engineer in line with the contract programme.
Technical Submittals & Procurement
Manage the technical submittal process for all elements/components required for construction.
Maintain a monitoring system that tracks the status of technical submittals and advise the Project Manager of progress and issues.
Prepare and maintain a procurement tracking schedule aligned with approved technical submittals and cost approvals.
Stakeholder Management
Respond promptly to queries during the contract and maintain a clear record of all queries.
Liaise effectively with the Project Manager, Site Manager, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
10+ years' industry experience as a Design Manager on Commercial and/or Residential projects.
Relevant third-level qualification in Engineering or Architecture.
Previous Main Contractor experience is desirable.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational/planning skills.
Ability to self-manage, prioritise, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
