A Day in the Life
Medtronic's Cardiac Ablation Solutions division is searching for a dynamic Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role with a 4-day onsite requirement. The chosen candidate will be heavily involved in supporting the design work for a critical ablation program. The Cardiac Ablation Solutions team is engaged in developing next-generation medical technologies that save lives and improve the quality of life for millions of patients worldwide.

A Day in The Life Of:
* Complex product design activities
* Perform concept development and prototyping
* Design/develop components manufactured via plastic injection molding, stamping, machining, extrusion, and related processes
* Create and interpret analyses to determine design suitability
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff
* Incorporate risk-based decision-making into the design process
* Apply Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies throughout the design and development process
* Ensure on-time completion of Design Control deliverables
* Maintain current knowledge of related technologies
* Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure high-volume assembly feasibility
* Translate VoX feedback into product requirements
* Create and release engineering drawings, reports, and presentations
* Travel to supplier and manufacturing sites as required
* Present technical findings and project status to cross-functional teams and management
* Research, plan, design, verify, and validate electromechanical products and systems
Key Skills & Experience
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 4+ years of experience in mechanical product development or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience
Nice to Have
* DRM Greenbelt or above
* Experience in the medical device industry
* Experience in complex mechanical system design
* Experience with plastic injection molding in high-volume environments
* Extensive experience in 3D modeling, finite element analysis, and statistical design analysis
* Process and test method development and validation
* Formal training in Six Sigma methodologies
* Experience designing/developing catheters
* Experience with high-volume manufacturing
