Cairn has a unique opportunity for a high-calibre Building Services Engineer. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will assist in managing the Mechanical and Electrical services design and installation on our high-density residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and monitor the installation quality of M&E systems on residential projects, from initial coordination to final commissioning and handover.
2. Support site construction teams in coordinating M&E systems and assist with onsite problem solving as issues arise.
3. Coordinate with project design teams regarding M&E system interfaces with architectural and structural elements.
4. Oversee M&E sub-contractors onsite, ensuring programme and quality expectations are met.
5. Liaise with utility providers, local authorities, and design teams to ensure timely delivery of essential services, acting as a point of contact for the sites.
6. Anticipate and facilitate modifications of existing site services, including mains service diversions with Utility Providers.
7. Contribute to innovation and value engineering processes by considering and implementing best-in-class mechanical/electrical systems and products.
8. Manage temporary electric and water systems.
The Candidate:
1. Further education in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services engineering.
2. At least 4 years of post-qualification experience in a similar project management role.
3. Interest in energy management and emerging trends in residential building services, design, and construction.
4. Relevant trade background is an advantage but not essential.
5. Team-oriented, organized, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
6. Strong relationship-building, communication, and collaboration skills.
7. Focus on meeting deadlines and delivering projects on time.
8. Willingness to travel across sites in greater Dublin and hold a full driving license.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing demanding time and quality targets.
