FRS Recruitment is working with a leading organisation within Ireland's renewable energy sector to source their next Head of Investment Strategy.
This is a senior finance and commercial leadership role, reporting to the Head of Commercial, with primary responsibility for shaping investment strategy, leading financial decision-making, and driving the commercial development of energy generation assets.
The position offers the opportunity to influence major financial investment decisions and play a key role in the development of Ireland's renewable infrastructure.
Location: Co. Kildare (Hybrid Working Available) Industry: Renewable Energy Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Key Responsibilities Build, lead, and oversee the development of investment-grade financial models for renewable energy projects Create and present robust business cases for financial investment decisions at senior leadership level Drive projects through to Financial Investment Decision (FID) in collaboration with Finance, Treasury, and Engineering teams Conduct financial analysis, risk assessments, and market evaluations to support investment proposals Lead strategic engagement with external stakeholders, securing partnerships that strengthen investment opportunities Monitor market conditions, financial trends, and regulatory frameworks impacting investment strategy Represent the organisation with investors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies as required Lead and mentor a team of commercial and business development professionals to support strategic financial growth Candidate Profile Minimum 10 years' experience in strategic finance, investment leadership, commercial finance, or business development roles within energy, infrastructure, or renewables Extensive experience building financial models, developing business cases, and leading projects to investment approval Strong knowledge of project financing structures, risk analysis, cash flow forecasting, and funding strategies Solid understanding of energy markets, capacity mechanisms, balancing services, and grid infrastructure Proven leadership skills with a strong ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at a senior level Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate finance or investment qualification is desirable Additional Information Hybrid working structure with a primary base in Newbridge, Co.
