Background to Tutor Post
The objectives of the Irish Countrywomen’s Association / The Countrywomen’s Trust are to advance education and benefit the community through fostering fellowship among women, developing their wellbeing, knowledge, and skills, and promoting Irish language and culture. The organisation supports women in Ireland and internationally.
Part-time tutors are essential for delivering innovative adult lifelong learning programs. Successful tutors should be adaptable, versatile, empathetic towards adult learners, and capable of working in various settings.
The organisation promotes lifelong learning and aims to nurture a learning community that enriches educational experiences and empowers entrepreneurship and innovation. Since opening in 1956, ICA An Grianán has fostered many entrepreneurs and improved learner wellbeing and education standards.
We invite accredited tutors to express interest in joining our esteemed panel. We offer a variety of courses that promote lifelong learning and personal development in a welcoming environment.

* Dance and Strength Exercises

* Community Development, Governance & Compliance
* Irish Language (spoken)
* Irish Music, Song, Dance, Instruments
* Environment Field Outings (foraging, etc.)
* Gardening (seasonal prep & pruning)
* Produce (growing and preserving)
* Exercise (hand-eye coordination)
* Tennis
* Golf & Pitch & Putt

* Built Environment & Heritage

* Weaving & Spinning
Place of Work
Primarily at An Grianán Adult Education College, Newtown, Termonfeckin, Co. Louth, or occasionally at ICA Central Office, Dublin.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Plan and prepare teaching materials, submit for approval.
* Provide a scheme of work and lesson plan before courses start.
* Meet diverse learner needs.
* Ensure duty of care and maintain confidentiality.
* Maintain learner interest and involvement.
* Adhere to learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
* Arrive early for classes.
* Some courses may use blended delivery modes, subject to approval.
Terms & Conditions
Part-time employment terms apply. Tutors report to their line manager.
Remuneration
Hourly rate as approved, covering planning, preparation, and related duties. Payments are made via bank transfer, with statutory deductions. Tutors must report salary variances and reimburse overpayments.
