What You Can Expect
The Junior E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) and Automation Engineer will work on projects to assist in their implementation from both an E&I and Automation perspective. The incumbent will also assist in day-to-day process automation and will be expected to gain in-depth knowledge of all plant operations and control systems.
1. Troubleshooting of site automation (DCS) DeltaV and other control systems as well as E&I issues.
2. Under the guidance of the site E&I and Automation Engineer, the incumbent will work closely with external engineering companies, site production, engineering personnel, and departmental technology units.
3. Liaise with technical experts from other BASF sites, especially our headquarters in Ludwigshafen (Germany), to fulfill and share the technical standards and safety requirements.
4. Commit to the transfer of knowledge and sharing of best practices and policies with the other site team members as deemed appropriate.
What We Expect
1. A Trade qualification in E&I or Electrical is beneficial and/or 3rd level qualification in electrical/instrumentation/automation.
2. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS) DeltaV.
3. Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems, reviewing and/or compiling electrical CAD drawings, developing scopes, I/O lists, PIDs, etc.
4. Prefer experience in a manufacturing background.
5. ATEX experience advantageous.
6. Be an effective communicator, who can work independently or as part of a team to ensure that goals and targets are achieved.
