Job Opportunity:
A senior energy engineer is required to lead the delivery of innovative energy efficiency solutions in residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough building energy assessments and energy audits on new and existing residential buildings to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Design, implement and optimise cost-effective energy efficiency measures, including insulation upgrades, airtightness improvements and heating system enhancements.
* Specify and support the installation of renewable energy systems, such as solar PV and air-to-water heat pumps, to reduce carbon emissions.
* Ensure compliance with Part L of the Irish Building Regulations and NZEB standards through meticulous planning and execution.
* Develop and conduct energy modelling and simulation using tools like DEAP, PHPP or IESVE to inform design decisions.
* Prepare comprehensive technical reports, grant applications and funding documentation to secure necessary resources.
* Collaborate closely with architects, contractors and homeowners to deliver sustainable energy-efficient design solutions that meet their needs.
* Monitor and evaluate energy performance post-occupancy, identifying areas for improvement and recommending adjustments or enhancements.
Essential Requirements:
* Master's degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Sustainable Energy or a related field.
* Certified Domestic BER Assessor registered with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.
* Experience in preparing successful SEAI grant applications.
* In-depth knowledge of Irish building regulations, particularly Part L and energy performance frameworks.
* Proven experience in residential construction projects, including retrofits and new builds.
* Proficiency in DEAP and other energy assessment tools.
* Strong report writing, communication and client liaison skills.
