Fun Galaxy Childcare is looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals who are passionate about supporting children's development in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:
* Experience in a School-Age Childcare Setting (Preferred, Not Essential): Prior experience working in an after-school club, summer camp, youth center, or educational setting with school-aged children (ages 4–12) is highly desirable. However, full training will be provided for the right candidates who are eager to learn and grow in the role.

Key Responsibilities:
As a member of Fun Galaxy after-school team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Your core responsibilities will include:
* Lead Engaging After-School Activities (Ages 4.5–12): Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate, fun, and inclusive activities that promote creativity, teamwork, and learning. Activities may include arts and crafts, group games, STEM-based challenges, sports, storytelling, drama, and more.
* Create and Implement Lesson Plans Aligned with After-School Goals: Develop structured activity plans that reflect the values, objectives, and curriculum of the program. Incorporate opportunities for children to explore new interests, develop key skills, and engage in social-emotional learning. Adapt plans as needed based on children's interests and developmental needs.
* Supervise Students to Ensure Safety and Positive Behaviour: Maintain active supervision at all times to ensure children's physical and emotional safety. Manage behaviour in a positive and consistent manner, applying appropriate strategies to support self-regulation, respect, and cooperation among students. Follow safeguarding procedures and respond effectively to any incidents or concerns.
* Communicate with Parents, Staff, and Management: Build positive relationships with families through daily communication and updates on children's progress and activities. Liaise with school staff and program management to ensure a consistent approach and support for each child's development. Report any concerns or incidents in a timely and professional manner.
* Assist with Homework, Enrichment Activities, and Outdoor Play: Provide support during structured homework time, helping children with tasks and encouraging independent learning. Lead or assist with enrichment activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Organize and oversee outdoor games and physical activities that promote health, teamwork, and gross motor development.
* Maintain a Professional Standard at All Times: Uphold high standards of conduct, appearance, and communication as a representative of our service. Demonstrate integrity, punctuality, and a commitment to the well-being of children. Ensure all equipment, resources, and spaces are maintained in an orderly, safe, and clean condition.
* Contribute to Program Evaluation and Improvement: Participate in regular team meetings, training sessions, and feedback processes. Offer ideas for program development and work collaboratively to improve outcomes for children and families.
* Support Daily Operations: Assist with snack preparation and distribution, set-up and clean-up of activity areas, and other operational tasks as needed to ensure the smooth running of the program.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children is an advantage
* Must have a passion for working directly with children
* Full Driving Licence is essential
* QQI Childcare Level 5 +
* First Aid certification & Manual Handling
