About the business unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe.
From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it.
Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle.
We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
Overview of the role
We are seeking an experienced Chartered civil / infrastructure Lead Engineer to be part of our Transport and Mobility Solutions Division in Ireland.
Located in Dublin you will be required to combine managerial responsibilities with technical responsibilities to promote a collaborative approach and inspire teams to win work and deliver innovative projects to quality, budgets and timescales.
You will be offered, and be expected to take on, a key leadership role and have responsibility for growing the Local Streets and Infrastructure team's profile by utilising existing client relationships and business development skills to develop and grow a portfolio of work for the division.
Although the role is located in Dublin, you will be expected to collaborate with our wider business in Ireland and the UK.
The role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to balance leadership in the design and delivery of a variety of complex projects ensuring technical excellence and innovation, with the requirement to engage with range of clients including, private clients, contractors, Local Authorities and transport authorities to expand our client base, grow our project portfolio and help shape the future of our division in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities and duties include:
Leading multi-disciplinary teams in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects
Demonstrating leadership and promote a Safety First culture
Managing the planning, design and implementation of infrastructure projects
Leading a portfolio of projects, ensuring delivery to client requirements, programme and budget
Controlling project resources and monitoring against budget
Overseeing project delivery from concept through to construction, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, local authorities, and industry partners
Monitoring market trends and contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline, or extensive equivalent experience
Chartered (or Incorporated) Engineer
Experience in detailed design for construction delivery
Demonstrable record of successfully managing project teams and of planning and controlling project programmes, budgets and resources
Demonstrate a strong track record in business development with the ability to identify and exploit growth opportunities
Experience and/or familiarity of working with Irish clients
Understanding of design standards including: Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) Standards, Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets (DMURS), National Cycle Manual, Traffic Management Guidelines and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) Standards
Represent Mott MacDonald at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities
Be prepared to work away from home when required
