Qualified Accountant - Accounts & Advisory

The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Galway City, is expanding its Accounts & Advisory function and is seeking to appoint a recently qualified accountant on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing firm of over 30 professionals with a strong SME client base and a reputation built over more than 30 years in practice. The role will involve close collaboration with Partners and senior management and will suit someone who is commercially minded, client-focused, and keen to play a role in the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of SME clients, providing accounting and advisory services
* Preparation of audit-exempt and audited financial statements
* Preparation and filing of Corporation Tax and Income Tax returns
* Preparation and filing of VAT and Payroll returns
* Preparation and filing of annual returns and abridged accounts with the CRO
* Preparation and presentation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, providing meaningful commercial insights to clients
* Maintaining books and records for bookkeeping and advisory clients
* Delegation of work to trainee accountants, including review and mentoring
* Assisting with the training and development of junior team members
* Staying up to date with developments in cloud accounting and relevant technologies
* Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team
Candidate Profile
* ACA / ACCA / CPA qualified
* Ideally 2+ years' experience in a practice environment
* Strong experience working with SME clients
* Excellent working knowledge of cloud accounting platforms such as Xero and QuickBooks
* Strong management accounts experience
* Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
* Strong communication skills with a client-facing, advisory mindset
* Analytical, problem-solving approach with the ability to "figure things out"
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
