About the Role:
We are currently recruiting a Project Management Engineer to deliver client-side services in the Water Sector in Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role on a team responsible for delivering major projects, focusing on scope, budget, schedule, and risk as part of a major capital investment program.
The Project Management Engineer will assist in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to specification, ensuring all project goals and objectives are met in accordance with the Employer’s requirements and the strategic goals of the portfolio.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Accountable to the Programme Manager for the delivery of the project/contract, focusing on design, procurement, construction delivery, budget management, scheduling, and technical quality.
2. Ensure projects meet their delivery deadlines.
3. Manage project progression through approval and gate processes, including documentation for review.
4. Regularly review project progress, budgets, changes, risks, and issues, and produce and circulate reports and scorecards.
5. Manage relevant stakeholders (internal & external) and ensure appropriate stakeholder consultation.
6. Develop cost estimates.
7. Review contractor’s design and deliverables in detail.
8. Contribute to capturing project performance data through monthly updates for monitoring and reporting, working with the Commercial team on managing and resolving contractual issues.
9. Adopt a flexible approach to change, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring team members understand their roles in delivering change.
10. Promote and ensure health and safety commitments are met.
Key Requirements:
1. Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the Construction / Infrastructure sector on projects of similar size and complexity.
2. Experience in Wastewater/watertreatment and contract administration is desirable but not mandatory.
3. Relevant third-level qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
4. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
5. Experience in on-site operations is an advantage.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Report writing skills.
