Overview of the role
This role is an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrical engineer with Water/WasteWater experience to join a highly established Electrical Design Engineering Team. Produce detailed Electrical and Instrumentation designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants. The role will have responsibility for ensuring that all work is efficiently and effectively managed and executed within defined constraints, such as time and budget, and with due diligence. The role will require strong technical skills and communication and interaction with managers, engineers, internal and external team members, suppliers and clients.
Duties
Experience liaising with Electrical Supply Board (ESB)
Design and selection of Instrumentation for Water and WasteWater process
Evaluation of the client specifications from Industrial Clients and Municipal Clients
Preparation of Electrical Technical Designs & Submissions
Design of electrical distribution and general services (lighting, fire and intruder alarms and containment systems)
Design and development of Electrical Panels including schematic review (MCC, LCP, MDB etc)
Development of automation hardware and system network architecture
Evaluation and selection of sub-contractors and suppliers
Preparation of procurement specifications and quotation evaluations
Liaise with other departments i.e. design, contracts, control & automation etc
Understanding and ability to update single line diagrams, panel schematics and wiring diagrams
Preparation of FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) documentation and FAT attendance
Preparation of Control Philosophies
Working to Irish Standards, European Norm, Water Industry Standards (WIMES) & IEC standards
Travel to site occasionally as required to support design activities
Skills
Level 7 or Higher in Electrical Engineering
Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment industry preferable
Highly organised and efficient
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Strong technical knowledge
Team player and ability to work on own initiative
Customer Focused
Self-motivated
