HR Business Partner (11-Month Maternity Cover) – Galway (Parkmore)

Full-time, 11-month maternity cover
Hours:
38.5 hours per week
Working pattern:
Onsite 5 days/week for the first 3 months; hybrid option thereafter (WFH 1 day/week after 3 months' service)
A well-established manufacturing organisation in Galway is hiring an HR Business Partner to deliver hands-on HR support across the full employee lifecycle.
This is a practical, people-facing role combining operational HR delivery with trusted advisory support to leaders and employees, ensuring best practice and compliance with Irish employment legislation.
Responsibilities
HR Operations & HRIS
- Maintain accurate employee data on the HRIS and keep records up to date
- Produce HR reports/metrics to support compliance and decision-making
- Maintain personnel files in line with GDPR and internal standards
Employee Relations
- Manage end-to-end ER cases (performance, disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability)
- Coach managers on best practice, consistency, and compliance
- Support investigations, meetings, documentation, and follow-up actions
Payroll & Benefits Support
- Act as HR point of contact for payroll queries and processes
- Support benefits administration and contractual/terms changes
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (leave, working time, etc.)
Performance & Engagement
- Support performance management processes and manager capability
- Coach leaders on feedback, development plans, and team engagement
- Contribute to culture and continuous improvement initiatives
Business Partnering
- Partner with managers across operations/manufacturing/support functions
- Provide advice on attendance, wellbeing, policy application, and workforce needs
- Support change initiatives and organisational development activities as required
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support recruitment and onboarding activities as required
- Coordinate interview processes, offers, contracts, and pre-employment checks
Requirements
5+ years' experience in an HR Generalist/HRBP role (operational/manufacturing environment preferred)
Level 7/8 qualification in HRM or related discipline
Strong working knowledge of Irish employment legislation
HRIS experience (confident user; reporting and data accuracy focus)
Comfortable supporting payroll queries and HR admin processes
Strong stakeholder management and coaching ability
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
