As a Field Service Engineer at ASM, you will support one of our key customers as they push the boundaries of the most advanced technology nodes in semiconductor manufacturing. You will become part of a diverse, global team united by curiosity, precision, and a shared drive to stay ahead of what's next. Based on site in Lucan, this role offers an excellent foundation for early career engineers, or an opportunity to deepen your expertise in a high-tech environment that values safety, learning agility, and technical excellence. You will receive extensive training through ASM's Global Training Center, alongside hands-on mentorship from experienced ASM engineers. Your work will directly impact tool performance, uptime, and customer satisfaction; making you an essential part of the customer experience. Key Responsibilities Execute installation, decommissioning, preventative maintenance, and repair of advanced electromechanical semiconductor equipment at the customer site and occasionally at global locations. Demonstrate strong ownership through effective troubleshooting, precise problem-solving, and ensuring tools return to optimal performance efficiently. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing timely updates, clear communication, and high-quality technical solutions. Conduct structured customer training, ensuring safe, clear, and well documented handovers and support. Represent ASM professionally through proactive communication, reliability, and a solutions-oriented approach- strengthening long-term customer trust. Collaborate cross functionally with regional and global engineering teams to escalate issues appropriately, share insights, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Adhere to strict safety and quality protocols, ensuring all service activities meet cleanroom and equipment standards. Requirements Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering Working knowledge of electrical and gas schematics. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with a disciplined, safety-first mindset. Effective communication skills and the ability to function within cross functional and multicultural teams. Solid organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment. Advantageous experience in one or more of the following areas: Semiconductor wafer fab operations / Vacuum and gas control systems / RF plasma systems / Electropneumatic controls / Microprocessor based controllers / Robotics / Handling of toxic/flammable gases and chemicals Willingness to travel internationally (typically %, mainly to the U.S.). Availability to attend a two-week product training at ASM's Global HQ in the Netherlands. Must have valid authorization to work in Ireland and the EU.
