Overview
For this bid/project we are seeking a Construction Health and Safety Lead for an infrastructure project with Deutsche Bahn.

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and welfare laws and HSA regulations.
Develop, communicate, and maintain safety and health plans, including emergency procedures.
Coordinate with contractors on safety measures, access control, and welfare facilities; promote cooperation.
Verify that all workers hold valid Safety Awareness cards (e.g., Safe Pass, CSCS) and appoint Safety Representatives and Safety Advisors as needed.
Conduct safety inspections and audits; keep records; report incidents to HSA and notify them when project thresholds are met.
Oversee implementation of construction regulations and accident reporting within the assigned project area.
Monitor contractor compliance, implement corrective actions, and inform stakeholders and HSA of non-compliance.
Provide required safety documentation to relevant project parties.
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years' experience in Health and Safety, with at least 7 years specialism across major infrastructure and engineering projects, especially in the rail industry.
Strong and demonstrable leadership and management experience in health and safety.
Safety and Health qualifications, e.g., a Bachelor's degree or diploma in the field.
Holding a Safe Pass / CSCS Card (or equivalent).
Completed a Managing Safety Training Course in Construction IOSH.
Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health or other relevant bodies.
Ability to identify Health & Safety performance indicators.
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong influencing and leadership skills.
Team player, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Capacity to manage difficult and competing stakeholder interests.
Excellent organisational skills with a positive, can-do flexible work attitude.
Ability to work to strict deadlines and handle conflicting priorities.
