A global leader in medical technology is seeking an experienced
Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
to join their high-performing team in Limerick.

What You'll Do:
Lead the design and development of complex devices, including both capital equipment and disposable components
Translate product requirements into detailed engineering specifications
Select appropriate materials, processes, and tooling for design and manufacturing
Drive engineering studies and proof-of-concept testing
Oversee risk assessments: PHA, FTA, dFMEA/uFMEA
Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective actions
Collaborate with manufacturing to improve design for manufacturability
Manage projects, assign tasks, and coordinate cross-functional teams
Mentor and lead engineers, managing performance and development
Present technical updates to internal and external stakeholders
What You'll Bring:
Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (or related discipline)
6–9 years' experience in medical device product development
5+ years leading design teams on capital equipment and/or disposable products
Strong knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA, and materials selection
Familiar with Design for Six Sigma, DOE, and statistical tools
Experienced in working under regulated systems (ISO *****, MDR, FDA CFR 820)
Skilled in project management and technical leadership
Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
