Solar Project Lead Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Project Lead Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical design and delivery of commercial and industrial solar PV projects. Your expertise in project management, safety procedures, quality control, programme administration, subcontractor coordination and technical deliverables will ensure successful project outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:
• Own and lead the electrical design process for solar PV projects including rooftop systems; ground mounted installations as well as hybrid configurations• Produce single line diagrams layouts calculations cable sizing protection studies earthing grid compliance documentation• Manage site operations ensuring adherence to health & safety regulations ESB Networks requirements EU standards relevant codes practices Oversee inspections testing commissioning certification processes Support tendering pre-contract activities with strong technical input risk identification
Knowledge Requirements:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent4-5 years post qualification experience preferably within renewable energy sector Strong exposure to solar pv projects Proven track record managing on-site projectsincluding subcontractors Strong understanding HSE legislation PSDP/PSCS obligations Familiarity HV/MV switchgear transformers utility scale solar installations Confidence owning decisions challenging constructively when required
