The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is essential to our operations, responsible for keeping vital machinery running smoothly. As an RME Technician, you will maintain equipment and workspaces while adhering to Health and Safety standards, helping to ensure colleague safety and minimize machine downtime. Our technicians enhance equipment availability and quality, contributing to a better operational environment.
Key job responsibilities
1. Perform proactive and preventative maintenance on various site equipment.
2. Conduct reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
3. Utilize advanced tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
4. Maintain compliance with all health and safety policies.
5. Support the development of on-site apprentices.
6. Participate in continuous improvement projects and implement best practices across EU sites.
A day in the life
Based on-site, you will respond swiftly to machinery issues, performing planned maintenance and addressing breakdowns promptly. You will investigate and resolve problems efficiently and suggest long-term improvements. Your tasks include routine maintenance like painting and plumbing, liaising with contractors, and working on various shifts to support our 24/7 operations.

The RME team maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment across Amazon’s global fulfillment centers. The team is composed of skilled professionals and guided by experienced leaders, working on installing automated systems, maintaining facilities, and ensuring safety compliance. Our work aims to minimize downtime, ensuring timely delivery to customers. Maintenance may occur during off-peak hours, including nights. We encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies like Amazon Robotics and the Complex Item Sorter.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* NFQ6 (Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate in Engineering) or Solace/Solas level 6 in Mechanical/Electrical or Mechatronics.
* Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
* Experience fault-finding in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) or automation systems.
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
* Experience with conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Apprentice trained, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng.
* Experience with high voltage switching.
* Experience with sortation machines.
* Experience maintaining/configuring barcode scanners.
* Experience with print and apply machines.
* Experience fault-finding in building systems like HVAC, dock doors, plumbing, and general maintenance.
