The Role
You will be involved in complex and high‑profile work, including:
* Advising public and private sector clients on public law and the jurisdictional and procedural issues that affect statutory bodies.
* Advising regulators and regulated entities on a wide range of regulatory matters.
* Handling all aspects of information law, such as freedom of information and data protection.
* Managing statutory and non‑statutory investigations and inquiries, as well as all types of public law litigation.
Key Responsibilities
* Advising on administrative/public law, statutory interpretation and analysis (including sector‑specific domestic and EU legislation), and information law issues, including FOI, Access to Information on the Environment and data privacy.
* Managing public law litigation, including judicial review and statutory appeal proceedings.
* Drafting legal opinions and court documents, and other materials such as correspondence, consultation documents, and policies for public bodies.
* Advising on the conduct of regulatory investigations and assisting clients with their approach to statutory or other investigations and inquiries.
* Collaborating with cross‑sectoral teams within MHC, including our privacy and charities teams.
Candidate Requirements
* 6+ years PQE in a related practice area.
* A proactive, ambitious professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
