Senior Civil Planner
International Tier 1 Civil Contractor operating in Greater Dublin Area, Ireland. This high‑impact role focuses on planning, scheduling, and control of major transport schemes including road, highways, and rail infrastructure projects.
Competitive salary up to €100,000.
Key Responsibilities
* Program Development & Management: Develop, manage, and maintain the Master Schedule and detailed Level 3/4 schedules for complex civil engineering and transport schemes using Primavera P6.
* Strategic Planning: Lead strategic planning sessions with the Project Director and Senior Management team, defining the overall project execution strategy, phasing, and key milestones.
* Interface & Logic Management: Proactively identify, manage, and coordinate complex interfaces between design, procurement, civil packages, specialist subcontractors (e.g., track work, signalling), and stakeholders (e.g., Local Authorities, Irish Rail).
* Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Implement robust progress measurement systems (actual vs. planned), prepare detailed weekly/monthly reports, and present critical path analysis to highlight risks and opportunities for acceleration.
* Risk & Change Management: Integrate risk mitigation measures into the program. Lead the planning input for contractual claims and changes (e.g., extensions of time under NEC or GCCC contracts), providing detailed delay analysis.
* Resource Management: Work closely with operational teams to develop accurate resource loading (labour, plant, materials) for the program to inform cost and logistical planning.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Senior Planner (or Lead Planner) with a minimum of 7 + years in a civil engineering environment.
* Sector Expertise: Essential, significant experience in delivering large‑scale Transport and Civil Infrastructure projects, specifically Roads, Highways, Rail, or major Utilities.
* Software Proficiency: Expert‑level proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory. Experience with other planning tools or BIM integration is an advantage.
* Contractual Awareness: Strong working knowledge and practical experience with contractual planning requirements under NEC (especially Option C/E) or GCCC forms of contract.
* Communication & Influence: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex programs clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Qualifications: A relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
