PUNCH Consulting Engineers has a vacancy for a Design Structural Engineer. The position is available at our Dublin, Cork or Limerick offices.
Job Description
As a Design Engineer you will work under the guidance of more senior members of staff to develop your technical skills and to develop commercial awareness. You will get the opportunity to work on a myriad of projects including numerous landmark national projects both within the private and public sector.

During your period as a Design Engineer with the company you will receive on the job training and take part in the CPD programme that occurs during Office hours. It is also expected that you will undertake CPD out of office hours by attendance on lectures, seminars etc + technical reading.
Candidate Specification
* A degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent, 2-3 years postgraduate experience
* Committed to achieving Chartered Status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent
* An understanding of engineering principles and a strong technical focus
* IT skills – including MS Word, Excel, Project, structural design software such as CADS, SCIA, Tekla, AutoCAD, TEDDS, REVIT, STRAP and other design software
* The ability to identify and apply appropriate scientific methods to solve engineering problems plus knowledge of the limitations of established best practice as defined by Standards and Codes
* Under supervision plan and manage the use of human and physical resources for your projects
* Strong communication skills both oral and written
* Understanding of the Irish regulatory and policy issues
* Appreciation of the full Project Delivery Process including GCCC Contracts
* Commitment to CPD and competence.
* A positive, proactive approach with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios
