Description
We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Basic Grade Psychologist to join our team based in Leopardstown and Sandymount.
Locations
Leopardstown office is located within an HSE building at Leopardstown Shopping Centre, offering excellent connectivity and convenience.
Sandymount office is in a vibrant seaside village with a welcoming community feel, served by DART and bus routes.
Contract Information
Contract Type: Permanent Post
Contract Hours: Full Time Post, 35 hours per week
Salary Scale: €60,342 – €105,535 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments).
Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.
Responsibilities
To work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children and families within the region. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of psychology services including assessment and intervention to children accessing the Early Intervention service as appropriate.
Qualifications
Have a recognised university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in Psychology.
Have an Irish postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
Demonstrate competence in the Care Group(s) applied for.
Must be a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Applicants with a clinical or counselling psychology qualification must have at least 60 days of supervised clinical placements or post‑qualification supervised work experience in Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology or Adult Psychology.
Applicants with an educational psychology qualification must have at least 60 days of supervised clinical placements or post‑qualification supervised work experience in Child Disability or Child Psychology.
Eligible to work in the State.
Experience working in the disability sector.
Experience of inter‑disciplinary team working.
Knowledge and experience of Assessment of Need process.
Experience working with children aged from birth to 18 years with a range of disabilities (including physical disability, autism, learning disability) and their families.
Experience in Autism diagnosis.
At least one year satisfactory post‑graduate experience working as a Clinical or Educational Psychologist.
Note: Combinations of supervised placement and post‑qualification experience within a single care group area to give a total of 60 days are not acceptable.
