About The Role
* Employment Type: Part time (14 hours per week)
* Duration: Permanent contract
* Remuneration: Level B position from $127,947 base, Level C position from $155,403 base + Clinical Loading + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading
* Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.

Who We Are
UNSW School of Clinical Medicine encompasses all our Clinical Campuses and Disciplines, as well as a number of other affiliated clinical sites. We have four main metropolitan clinical campuses including our South West Sydney Clinical Campuses, St George and Sutherland Clinical Campuses, the Randwick Clinical Campus and St Vincent's Healthcare Campus. Our Rural Clinical Campuses include Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, Albury and Griffith. Why This Role Matters
The role is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Education-Focused academic capacity in the Discipline of Critical Care across the School, fostering excellence in clinical education and supporting the next generation of medical professionals. It supports the delivery and sustainability of the Discipline of Critical Care teaching program and the Undergraduate Medicine Program Redesign, ensuring high-quality teaching, coordination, and curriculum development across St George and Sutherland Clinical Campuses and the School of Clinical Medicine.
Responsibilities & Expectations
* Deliver high-quality teaching, coordinate curriculum development, and contribute to educational leadership in Critical Care.
* Develop scholarly research and professional activities at national and international levels; contribute to teaching and service missions.
* Provide clinical teaching, educational and research leadership on the St George Hospital campus, with a preference for a Critical Care focus.
* Collaborate with the Head of St George and Sutherland Clinical Campuses and the Head of Discipline; work without direct reports.
Key Skills & Qualifications
* A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
* Medical qualification registerable in NSW and specialist training, preferably in a Critical Care field.
* Commitment to staying up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
* Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and educational excellence in curriculum design and development.
* Knowledge of industry or work-integrated learning is desirable.
* Ability to support students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
* Strong research track record with high-quality outcomes and potential for leadership; ability to achieve research excellence.
* Involvement with the profession or industry and strong communication and networking skills.
* Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build relationships; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
