Responsibilities

1. Detailed knowledge of IFRS/ UK GAAP with a higher degree of specialisation in topics / markets.
2. Pro-actively assist in identifying strategic opportunities and driving the business unit strategy by managing projects and other initiatives.
3. Perform reviews of financial statements in accordance with the applicable requirements of the preparation frameworks.
4. Writing technical briefs and other articles on accounting application issues, including contentious orplex issues
5. Initiate and lead client meetings (even where not required for a specific query) at appropriate levels within the client or internally and ensure that the appropriate Partner is involved where necessary / relevant.
6. Provide coaching and input to staff during the consultation process and review of consultations / opinions.
7. Present technical meeting topics, staff training updates, technical updates, client training and other training.
8. Horizon scan for changes to reporting frameworks and use the output of these scans to identify and develop opportunities to drive strategic business development growth
9. Actively supporting and driving key strategic activities and supporting retention by:
10. Taking responsibility for departmental teams and monitoring productivity of such teams, including ensuring a fair allocation of work and that team members achieve appropriate chargeability targets.
11. Empowering staff to enable them to work autonomously
Ideal Candidate

12. Qualified Chartered Accountant with excellent proven IFRS knowledge in a technical role
13. Experience in managing teams ideally within a professional services environment.
14. 5 + years' minimum PQE.
15. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability tomunicate and interact with people at all levels.
16. Attention to detail
17. Ability to do research, work independently whilst producing and delivering good quality results
18. Ability to build and sustain relationships with people at all levels
19. Good business writing skills
20. Good organizational and time management skills
21. Professional work ethic
22. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
