Overview

Project Worker- High Park role at Merchants Quay Ireland (MQI). The role is to effectively deliver care planning and support to clients of High Park, upholding the philosophy and working ethos of MQI.


Base pay range

This range is provided by Merchants Quay Ireland. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Salary: 34,960-37,087 per year

Responsibilities

* Ensure that the day to day operations of the service run smoothly in accordance with organisation and service policies and procedures.
* Work as part of the team with regular and consistent communication.
* Participate actively in all team meetings and be open to reasonable requests from the Service Coordinator.
* Work within MQI policies to ensure consistent delivery and quality standards.
* Provide continuity and support for students, part-time and voluntary workers.
* Work as part of a team and encourage this ethos among workers.
* Work with the Service Coordinator in assessing and identifying client needs and act in a ‘key worker’ capacity with designated clients.
* Support the treatment programme through facilitation of care planning, group work and educational workshops.
* Ensure client needs are attended to with sensitivity and efficiency; develop individual care plans.
* Support residential nature of the programme through participation in the staff rota including weekends and overnights when needed.
* Stay up to date with good practices and procedures in residential services.
* Facilitate client access to local services and advocate on their behalf; liaise with internal and external agencies to identify progression pathways.
* Comply with administrative requirements for paperwork, data filing, and client records; log into MQI’s TOMIS system; contribute to reports and statistics.
* Attend training sessions and facilitate transfer of learning to workers, trainees, students and volunteers; engage with supervision for personal/professional development.
* Maintain good relationships with external agencies and stakeholders; adhere to Health and Safety and MQI policies (confidentiality, boundaries, staff code of ethics).
* Be flexible to respond to organisational change and assist with other duties as reasonably requested by the Team Leader.


Qualifications / Person Specification

* One year’s experience in a paid full-time capacity, or equivalent part-time, in an addiction service or similar setting (or equivalent part-time).
* A relevant third level 7 or above qualification in social care.
* Experience of working in a residential setting is an advantage.
* Understanding of issues relating to problem drug use and homelessness including mental health concerns and progression pathways towards housing, training and work.
* Counselling skills an advantage.
* Capacity to develop constructive relationships with clients and team; ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems for reporting.
* Experience developing and delivering workshops and seminars; experience in the referral process and assessment of clients with addiction and related needs; experience developing care plans.
* Must be available to work overnights.
* A full driving licence is an advantage.
